The fishing here in Islamorada has been great this past week with a summer like pattern and a warm welcome to say the least, the tarpon action has been great on fly and bait for the first week in February. We have been catching snook and redfish deep in the creeks and with the tides for the upcoming days I expect that fishery to get even better. The ten day forecast looks great and for this being the heart of winter we will take it. There has been a decent bite of trout and your action open water fish [trout, jacks, ladyfish, snapper, etc] just about everywhere you go especially the closer you get to the edges of the gulf/park. In the downtown areas the bonefish have been doing there thing on the flats early in the morning and we have been finding them more in the deeper edges of the flats in the muds on the outgoing tide.
